At Malachi House, there are many opportunities to give unrestricted gifts that directly benefit our residents. Donations of cash or appreciated securities offset expenses such as maintenance of our home and grounds, and purchasing food and clothing for residents, to name a few.

Annual gifts, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated, whether given once a year, or once a month. Donors may designate gifts for a specific area of interest, or simply allow funds to be used for our area of greatest need.

Memorial/Tribute Giving
Donations may be made in honor or in memory of a family member or other loved one. A gift can be made on the occasion of a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other day of special meaning.

     •For these types of gifts, an acknowledgement will be sent (with no dollar amount listed) to the person in whose name the gift has been made.

Memorial gifts may be made at the time of a loved one’s death in lieu of flowers:

     •An acknowledgement will be sent to the deceased’s family members letting them know of the gift in their loved one’s memory (again, with no dollar amount listed).

Leaving A Legacy - Planned Gifts
Through your estate plan, there are a number of ways to provide for Malachi House at the end of your lifetime. Many gifts are simple – naming Malachi House in your will to receive an outright gift of cash, stocks, savings accounts, retirement plans, etc.

Some planned gifts are more complex, allowing you to make a gift and receive an income for the rest of your life. As a general rule, we place planned gifts in our endowment fund, allowing them to grow for years to come. The interest only that is earned from these gifts is then used to augment our annual fund raising efforts.

Gifts in Kind
In addition to financial contributions from hundreds of people each year, Malachi House benefits from donations of food items, paper products, cleaning supplies, and personal care items. Our current needs are listed below; if you are able to provide any of these items, please bring them to the house at 2810 Clinton Avenue, on Cleveland’s near west side.
