From
the beginning, the Malachi House board has been aware of the acute need
for our program in the Greater Cleveland community. Our trustees
feel a deep responsibility to make our home available to those who need
it and to continue growing to meet the needs of future
generations.
For example, in an effort to shorten our waiting list for admission to
our home, the board made a decision in 2000 to expand. This
expansion allows us to serve more of the people who need us most, our
less fortunate brothers and sisters.
Since we receive no payment whatsoever from our residents, their
families, or any third-party on our residents' behalf, fund raising is
imperative to the future of our home. We have an endowment fund
whose earnings provide a portion of our operating budget each
year. This fund is conservatively invested for long-term growth
and is monitored by a finance committee of the Board of Trustees.
We raise additional funds through our annual benefit and through
donations from foundations, corporations, organizations, and individual
friends of the house.
The future of our home depends upon the generosity of others - people
like you. We accept gifts of cash, stock gifts and estate gifts in
one's will. It is through these donations that we are able to
continue serving as a final home for the dying poor of our
community. If you would like more information about making a gift
to our home, please contact Polly Williams at
