Malachi House Appoints Julie M. Johnson as Director of Development

Cleveland, OH—May 21, 2009 – Malachi House, a home of love for persons who are terminally ill, announced the appointment of Julie M. Johnson to the position of director of development and marketing.  Johnson joined the staff on May 11, 2009.

In her new position at Malachi House, Johnson will be responsible for expanding the home’s outreach efforts and advancing its financial support to continue its 21- year ministry of comforting more than 1,400 individuals who lack the resources to afford and receive quality care at the end of their natural lives.

“I am pleased that Julie has joined the Malachi House family,” said Diane C. Kennedy, chair of the board of trustees.  “With Julie’s extensive non-profit experience and knowledge, her expertise as a fundraiser, and her diverse leadership background, she is uniquely prepared to help meet the current fundraising and marketing needs of Malachi House. 

Johnson, who has previously directed three non-profit organizations stated, “Malachi House is the embodiment of how each of us desire and deserve to live in society: with hope, dignity, comfort, joy, peace, support and strength.  I am truly honored by this tremendous opportunity to preserve this mission for all of our residents.”

About Malachi House
Malachi House, created out of a Christian sense of ministry, serves persons who are terminally ill, without cost or regard to gender, race, religion or national origin. The home ministers to individuals who need an available caregiver, who have limited or no financial resources and are in need of special home care in the final stages of life. A trained staff and volunteers provide spiritual, emotional and physical support with the assistance of a hospice team.
