Malachi House Open
At Dorlon a Sellout Event
Cleveland, OH—June 12, 2009 – Malachi House, a home of love for persons who are terminally ill, held its 14th Annual Malachi House Open at Dorlon Golf Club in Columbia Station. This renowned fundraiser marked the 14th consecutive sellout event with a field of 164 golfers. The large contingent hit their first tee shots at 10:45 a.m. as the morning fog and mist soon lifted to brilliant sunshine and mild temperatures.
“Unfortunately, no one managed a hole-in-one to win the
2009 Nissan Altima donated by Nissan of North
Olmsted,” said Tony Shaker, the event chair. “Nonetheless, the participants walked away with hundreds of great raffle prizes donated from local Cleveland vendors and sponsors. A fantastic time was had by all!”
This year’s co-champions included the teams of Michael Ziska (64), Dave Groudle, Tommy Finnegan, Will Jenkins, Matt Smith (60), Jason Rak, Mike Naughton, and John Pietrangeli with a combined team score of 124 (-20).
Shaker gratefully added, “On behalf of the committee and our major sponsors:
Thomas McDonald Partners, The Rocky River Brewing Company, Cleveland Marble & Mosaic Company, Henkel Corporation, Jerry Murphy, Jr., and John Hancock Financial
Services, and to all those who support this great event, we thank you for your generous contributions and look forward to seeing you next year on June 11, 2010.”
