Record Breaking Year for Krusty's Summer Sauce Camp

Cleveland, OH—On Saturday, August 2nd, 2,200 attendees and 150 volunteers descended upon the Whiskey Island Marina for the 18th Annual Krusty’s Summer Sauce Camp. Bright sunshine interspersed with puffy clouds graced Wendy Park and the massive crowd, which was treated to live musical performances by The Madison Crawl and Wrong Way – a Sublime Tribute act from Atlanta, Georgia.

Often hailed to be one of Cleveland’s premier fun-in-the-sun events, those in attendance feasted on the all-you-can-eat summertime buffet and beverages. Summer games of choice included a 50-team cornhole competition, beach volleyball, and an overall festive atmosphere.

In our “free gas giveaway” Shawn Dykes, Diana Le, Julie Barlock, Tom Leskovec, & Joe Wright each scored big wins in free gasoline. Congratulations to all of you!!

“However, the biggest winner of the day was Malachi House,” emphatically stated Tony Shaker of OTIS (Organization to Inspire Samaritans), one of Krusty’s Summer Sauce Camp organizers and a member of Malachi House’s board of trustees. “Total proceeds from the event reached $60,000, which far surpasses last year’s precedence of $50,000, making 2009 the most successful camp in its eighteen-year run.”

“We couldn’t have ordered a more perfect day,” added Mary Kay Stahley, executive director of Malachi House. “We are blessed that more and more people support us each year.”

“On behalf of all the volunteers and the thousands attending this great event – we thank you and hope to see all of you next year on August 7, 2010.” Shaker concluded.
