Eighth Annual Lights
for Life Celebration at Malachi House
Cleveland, OH—November 4, 2009 – Malachi House will hold its
Eighth Annual Lights for Life Tree Lighting Ceremony Celebration on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 7:00 pm in their garden on Clinton Avenue in Ohio City. Joel Billock, the recipient of the 2009 Malachi House Volunteer of the Year Award will have the honor of lighting this year’s
trees.
“Malachi House has had a rich tradition of remembering the life of each of our residents,” said Mary Kay Stahley, executive director. “Our Lights for Life Celebration offers everyone an opportunity to honor or memorialize our loved ones by adding a light to Malachi House’s outdoor Christmas trees.”
“The idea of Lights for Life came from Malachi House volunteers, who wanted to find a way for all of our friends to aide in the fundraising for our Home,” explained Billock. “Every gift of $10.00 adds a light to adorn the evergreen trees in the Malachi House garden. The beautiful trees will shine brightly throughout the holiday season, joyfully celebrating the lives of our many loved ones while ‘lighting up the lives’ of our current residents.”
The tree lighting ceremony will be followed by a reception with holiday refreshments for guests and the acknowledged honorees and their families.
