NCBA - Sunday League Donates Generous Gift to Malachi House

Cleveland, OH—March 16, 2010 – The North Coast Bowling Association (NCBA)—Sunday League donated a gift of $1,800.00 to Malachi House. The generous gift was raised by NCBA—Sunday League through a Benefit on Friday, March 12 hosted at Cocktails Cleveland on Detroit Avenue. The fundraiser proceeds were generated through a silent auction, 50/50 raffle drawings, a reverse raffle, prize raffles and much more.

The highlight of the evening was the engaging presentation of entertainer “Big Daddy,” who engaged the audience in a rendition of the “Match Game” game show. The “Match Game” was an American television game show that debuted in the 1970’s and featured contestants who attempted to match celebrities' answers to fill-in-the-blank questions. The “winner” of the game show received a $25.00 gift certificate courtesy of Cocktails Cleveland.

Malachi House, a home of love for persons who are terminally ill, was honored to be the recipient of the evening. “We are blessed to be selected by the North Coast Bowling Association—Sunday League as their charity,” said Mary Kay Stahley, executive director of Malachi House. “Our home does not receive any governmental funding or insurance support, which means we are solely dependent upon the kindness and generosity of so many, like our friends at NCBA, to provide quality care of our residents.”

Tito Castro, president of the NCBA—Sunday League, commented, “We are thrilled to be able to help Malachi House because of the wonderful work they do for so many in need. Their ministry of providing dignity, peace and hope to those living in their final days and lacking financial means is a unique and greatly needed service in our community.”

Celebrating their 30th year, NCBA—Sunday League is the original and longest running non-profit Gay Bowling League in Northeast Ohio. It is a mixed league of men and women that continues to ensure the integrity of the sport of bowling. Their mission is to promote a fun-filled, yet competitive venue in which comradery, unity, and fellowship prevails. For the past five (5) years, they have called Freeway Lanes of Parma their home. NCBA—Sunday League is proud to be a member of the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO) for the past twenty-eight (28) years.
