Another Sellout for Malachi House Open at Dorlon Golf Club

Cleveland, OH—June 10, 2011 – Malachi House, a home of love for persons who are terminally ill, held its 16th Annual Malachi House Open at Dorlon Golf Club in Columbia Station. The outing marked the 16th consecutive sellout event with a field of 160 golfers. The large contingent hit their first tee shots at 10:30 a.m. amongst overcast skies and mild temperatures. “Then the skies unleashed” said Tony Shaker, the event chair, “and we endured a couple inches of rain in a 90 minute period prior to returning to play.”

Unfortunately, no one managed a hole-in-one to win the 2011 Nissan Altima presented by Nissan of North Olmsted. Nonetheless, the rain-dampened participants walked away with hundreds of great raffle prizes donated from local Cleveland vendors and sponsors. A fantastic time was had by all!

This year’s co-champions included the teams of Greg Rowe (58), Mark Riddle, Bill Schramm, & Jeff Donahoe, Jeff Richmond (71), Chris Tiley, Doug Wood, and Andy Metzger with a combined two-team score of 129 (-15).

Shaker gratefully added, “On behalf of the committee and all of our major sponsors: Nissan of North Olmsted, Massage Envy – Westlake, Strongsville & Belden Village, The Rocky River Brewing Company, Merry Arts Pub & Grille, Henkel Corporation, Laskeside Produce, LLC, Thomas McDonald Partners, Jerry Murphy, John Hancock Financial Services, GLAS Funds, LLC, and Coating Innovations, and to all those who support this great event, we thank you for your generous contributions and look forward to seeing you next year on June 22, 2012.”
